If you're looking for an area that is near the ocean, then Old Saybrook is the place to go! Located right along the Connecticut shoreline, it has many things to offer, including a mini-golf course at the Dock and Dine restaurant. It also has a public beach (good for anyone with children, looking for something to do during the summer), as well as many seafood restaurants. The crime rate here is pretty low, although traffic in Old Saybrook can be extremely heavy and challenging at times (especially summertime.) The downside about living in Old Saybrook is that the cost of living is quite expensive, so anyone considering living in this town should be prepared to spend a little money. The schools in Old Saybrook seem to be pretty decent.
